Bioindustry4.0 NTUA Team at the 15th Panhellenic Scientific Conference of Chemical Engineering

May 15, 2026

The 15th Panhellenic Scientific Conference of Chemical Engineering is scheduled to take place from June 3–5, 2026, hosted by the Technical University of Crete. The conference brings together experts from academia and industry to present advances in both fundamental and applied research in Chemical Engineering, with a strong focus on process systems engineering, bio-renewables, sustainable biorefineries, circular economy, material science, and emerging digital technologies. The event serves as an important forum for strengthening collaboration between academic research and industrial applications in Greece.

Within the framework of the BIOINDUSTRY 4.0 project, the IPSEN NTUA team will have the honour to participate in the conference with the invited presentation:

“Bioreactor digital twins: process and biocatalyst intelligence using foundational ML and Generative AI”

In addition, the team will also present the following contributions:

  • “Development of Digital Twins for Industrial Bioreactors using Physics-Informed Neural Networks”

The presentation focuses on the development of intelligent digital twins for industrial bioreactors using physics-informed machine learning to enhance process understanding, monitoring, and optimization.

  • “AI-enabled Model Predictive Control for Industrial Bioreactors”

The presentation focuses on the development of AI-assisted model based control for industrial bioreactors as a strong alternative to conventional feedback controllers.

These contributions highlight the role of the BIOINDUSTRY 4.0 project in advancing AI-enabled tools and digital technologies for industrial biotechnology and sustainable biomanufacturing systems.
