Sustainable production and recycling of plastics: process, product and technological innovations – EFCE Spotlight Talks, November 5th 14:00 – 16:00 CET

Webinar Announcement: Sustainable production and recycling of plastics: process, product and technological innovations

The production of plastics continues to rely heavily on virgin fossil feedstocks, resulting in significant waste that often ends up in landfills, contaminates oceans, or is incinerated. Unlike the traditional linear economy model of “make, use, and dispose,” the circular economy challenges us to extend the lifespan of resources, extract maximum value while in use, and recover and regenerate products and materials at the end of their life cycle.

This webinar will address the industrial challenges we face, explore promising renewable pathways, and showcase evidence of innovative processes, products, and technologies that support the transition to a circular economy model. We will also discuss the concept of a sustainable-by-design supply chain.

The webinar is organized by the Section on Sustainability as a part of the EFCE 7th Spotlight Talk Series.
