The final round of the Bio-based Innovation Student Challenge Europe (BISC-E) competition will be live streamed on the BIC YouTube channel.

During the final round, each of five finalists will present their business case including a SWOT analysis to a panel of Industry Member experts, who will then interact with the team through Q&As.
The student teams in the final round are:
- Biomeiler 2.0 (University of Utrecht, Netherlands) will improve heat extraction and compost quality compared to traditional compost heaters (biomeilers)
- B-CharGen (Riga Technical University, Latvia) demonstrate chicken feather biochar as a promising material in electrochemical applications
- CharBuild (University of Ghent, Belgium) are incorporating biomass into concrete in an integrated process to reduce fuel emissions and improve technical properties
- Evapotricity (University of Ljubljana, Slovenia) have worked on the development of a bio-based material for the production of drinking water using evaporation technology
- BIOSURFERS (AgroParisTech & Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne (France) & Université de Liège (Belgium) focus on an innovative production of microbial lipopeptides
The winning team will receive their prizes at the BIC Networking Event in Brussels on 2 October.
