On the 5th of June, FLEXIZYME consortium met in Valencia, Spain, for a productive two-days kick-off meeting. We shared initial insights about the project and its various Work Packages.
What is FLEXIZYME all about?
FLEXIZYME is a 48-month project funded by the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU), bringing together 17 innovative partners. Our mission is to transition towards environment-friendly biotechnological industrial processes, considering all the development steps to obtain bio-based FAs from fat-rich and protein-rich feedstocks to fit real industrial needs.
Our goal is to develop a robust and flexible platform for the production of FAs while overcoming current limitations in industrial biotechnology. By leveraging vanguard technologies, we aim to produce and validate biotechnological primary FAs for the cosmetics, detergents, and agriculture sectors. This project embodies a commitment to fostering a circular economy and a greener, more sustainable future.
A big thank you to all participants, specially ITENE for hosting. We will keep you updated on our progress.
