The IPSEN team participated in the “International Workshop on Process Intensification 2016” (http://www.icheme.org/iwpi2016), which was organized by the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) in Manchester, UK. Participants from industry and academia contributed with research outcomes and challenges related with the development of clean and sustainable processes. The conference covered a wide spectrum of experimental and computational research specialized on process intensification techniques and methodologies in the field of agriculture, biotechnology, chemical technology, energy conversion and environmental processes.
The IPSEN team contributed to the conference with two oral presentations of Konstantinos Pyrgakis, involving methodologies to build efficiencies in upcoming biorefineries. The first refers to the development of fully energy integrated distillation systems; the second is focused on the synthesis and energy integration of under-assessment bio-processes for the development of sustainable multiple-product biorefineries.
