The Process Systems Engineering world was saddened to hear of Professor Chris Floudas’s sudden passing last summer. As is customary in such circumstances, his academic family gathered at his long-time place of work, Princeton USA, on May 6th, 2017 to honour the man, researcher and teacher. Professor Floudas was a world-renowned authority in mathematical modelling and optimisation of complex systems, with research interests at the interface of chemical engineering, applied mathematics and operations research, having obtained his undergraduate background in Chemical Engineering at NTUA.
Professor Kokossis joined some one hundred former colleagues, students and research collaborators of Prof. Floudas to discuss technical matters, personal memoirs and reinforce the dedication to continue the path on which the deceased excelled.
